Dymchurch Parish Council is looking for two enthusiastic Beach Wardens to work on the foreshore and seawall this summer.

The contract runs from Monday 20 July to Friday 4 September 2026, working 11am–5:30pm, every weekend and on a weekday rota.

What the role involves:

  • Being a friendly, visible presence for beach visitors
  • Advising the public on safety, byelaws, and sea conditions
  • Providing first aid and liaising with emergency services if needed
  • Educating visitors about the marine environment and local wildlife
  • Keeping the beach, signage, and rescue equipment in good order
  • Acting as first point of contact for lost children and public concerns

This is a non-confrontational, community-facing role — no sea rescues required. Full first aid training and all equipment and safety clothing are provided.

You'll need to be: physically fit, a great communicator, and passionate about community safety and the environment. A DBS check will be required.

Closing date: Friday 26 June 2026 at 12pm Interviews will be held on Monday 6 July at the Dymchurch Parish Council offices.
